Awana Activities

Here is a schedule of what is done at Awana each week.

Awana is divided into three main sections:  Counsel time, handbook time and game time.

Counsel Time:  This time is spent singing praises to the Lord, listening to a Bible story or an object lesson.  The children will learn and recite Bible verses in a group setting.  From time to time we will have a guest speaker, such as the Pastor, a missionary or the commander, may come in and present a message to the clubbers.

Handbook Time:  This time is for the children to get in groups with their leaders recite verses and work in their handbooks.  The workbooks may be taken home so the children can practice at home to be ready to recite the verses during club time.

Game Time:  This is an exciting time of playing games and having fun the Awana way.  There is a game square unique to Awana that is used for the games.  Game time is one of the favorite times of Awana for the children as they get a chance to compete and cheer on their team in fun and competitive games.

Cost:  At this time the only cost that is anticipated is that the parents will pay for 1/2 of the vest/shirt for the children's age group and the Awana bag that is used to carry the handbooks in.  First Baptist will pay for the other 1/2 and the handbooks.
