Plan of Salvation
So many times in life we try to make what is easy complicated. We do this by adding too many of our thoughts and ways of doing things to the equation. I say this because you need to know that becoming a Christian is not as hard as you may think. God wants us to have a personal relationship with Him and has created an easy path to accept Him as Lord of your life. You may think that you can't become a Christian because of what you have done in the past but you should know that we are all sinners.
"For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God" Romans 3:23
Everyone has sinned and we can't be saved by our actions but only through the grace of God! We can't make ourselves right with God by becoming a better person, God wants to save us just because He loves us. It's God's grace that allows us to come to Him; not our efforts to "get straight and cleaned up" or try to work our way to heaven. We can't earn grace because it is a free gift.
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8-9
You see, Jesus paid the price for our sins by dying on the cross at Calvary and then God brought Jesus back from the dead to pave the way for us to have a personal relationship with Him through Jesus. All you have to do is accept the gift from Jesus-and you can do that right now!
"If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."
Romans 10:9-10
God tells us that if we believe in His son, Jesus, you can live forever with Him in glory.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16
If you are ready to accept Jesus as your savior right now just talk to Him from your heart. Here is a suggested prayer for you:
"Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and I do not deserve eternal life. But, I believe You died and rose from the grave to purchase a place in Heaven for me. Jesus, come into my life, take control of my life, forgive my sins and save me. I am now placing my trust in You alone for my salvation and I accept your free gift of eternal life."
